Velma is the latest Scooby Doo series (this is a prequel, so there is no Scooby). So far, it seems kind of bad but there are 10 episodes in this season, so there is a chance the show could get better. There is also a chance that a famous sports radio host will suddenly realize he's not that funny. (Fill in the sports radio host as you see fit. It can be a national host or a local host.)
Some of the jokes are bad. Some of the jokes might be trying too hard to be meta. Or maybe meta jokes need to be used wisely and too many back to back meta jokes is a bad thing. Or maybe the show is trying too hard to be edgy. (I am not against edgy humor in theory.)
Is this as bad in its own way as the infamous comic book Ultimatum? Well, probably not but Ultimatum was the rare thing that might be worse than its bad reputation. (I might say Ultimatum is among the worst Marvel comics of the last 20 years.)
